Mexico offers 'romance and adventure' - 07 Aug 2008
Mexico is the ideal destinations for Britons keen to enjoy a romantic holiday in luxurious surroundings, one travel expert has claimed.
Alyson Cook, editor of Luxury Travel Magazine, suggested that the country is also ideal for those looking for adventure from their holiday, with upmarket and exciting resorts such as Oaxaca, Queretaro and Chiapas.
"They're all the newer destinations ... that appeal to the younger market who want to go for something slightly different.
"So its not just staying in a hotel, it's walks in the jungle, communing with the animals, going to climb the cultural pyramids that's more adventurous," she explained.
For fans of activities such as horse riding and scuba diving, the spectacular Mayan Riviera has it all, with its tropical blue waters and white sandy beaches.
Some of Mexico's premier attractions include the Edzna archaeological site in Campeche and the Mayan site of Chichen Itza.
