Destination information - Cuba

Regional Activities: Cuba has over 300 beaches and keys so the usual beach activities, watersports and attractions are plentiful. Snorkelling and scuba diving are both readily available and there are extensive coral reefs around coastline. The underwater attractions include over 150 species of fish, sponges, corals and networks of caves. Yachting, sailing, cruises and other watersports are available at the marinas of Gaviota, Puerto Sol and Cubanacan Nautica to name a few. In addition to the many sports on offer they have great shops and restaurants.
Inland there are some great hiking and trekking opportunities for all levels, however it is advisable to use a local guide as the trails are not particularly well marked. Horse riding is also popular and there are a couple of tourist ranches.
There are 2 golf courses in Cuba, a 9 hole course in Havana, and an 18 hole course in Varadero.
If you fancy doing something adventurous there is also a sky diving centre at Varadero beach!
