Zambia is an unjustly overlooked African destination. A large country in southern Africa nestled in between Tanzania, Congo, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, it is a country shaped by its lakes and rivers.
One of the main attractions for the visitor to Zambia is undoubtedly safari. Zambia gives you more ways of experiencing its astounding variety of wildlife than most other destinations. It is possible to have a walking safari, driving safari, flying safari, bicycle safari and even a canoeing safari.
Most of the safari activity will take place in the internationally
renowned Luangwa Valley. With 9050km2 of wildlife reserve to explore and over 60 species of animals it should be enough for even the most hardened safari veteran. All the wildlife which you would expect to see on safari are present, with their attendant predators, save the rhino, which has been poached to extinction in Luangwa. Liuwa plains national safari park in the west of Zambia is host to the annual migration of wilderbeest in November.
If you don’t want to peek at the animals running about and would rather do something more active yourself then Zambia has more than what it takes to tire you out. From abseiling down gorges in the Victoria falls to white water rafting on the 23 Zambezi rapids flowing from the falls, you can take it all in on a trip to Zambia.
