A tropical paradise with outstanding beaches.

The Seychelles, set in the Indian Ocean 1,000 miles off the coast of Africa, are an archipelago of 115 islands that stretch for hundreds of miles. Described as the original Garden of Eden the islands are breathtakingly beautiful, the pure white sand, lush vegetation and clear turquoise waters will make you feel like you are in paradise. The main islands are Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, many of the smaller islands are uninhabited or are nothing more than coral atolls. Mahe is by far the largest and home to the capital Victoria. It has over 70 beaches and is surrounded by coral reefs so the waters are clear and calm, ideal for waterports. Praslin, the second largest island, is 3 hours by boat or 15 minutes by air from Mahe. Yet more idyllic beaches can be found here plus the exquisitely beautiful Valle de Mai which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, it is the only place in the world where the coco-de-mer palm can be found. Praslin is an excellent base for island hopping. La Digue is the world's perfect place to do absolutely nothing but enjoy the tropical beauty and deserted beaches. The beaches are picture perfect and frequently star in adverts and photoshoots, protected by the surrounding coral reefs and pink granite rocks they are excellent for swimming and snorkeling. La Digue is 30 minutes from Praslin so ideal for a day trip.
