Just north of Egypt and home to the dead sea lies one of the most exciting destinations in the middle east. Although often overlooked by tourists Jordan has much to offer in addition to an excellent infrastructure for visitors to make the most of their holiday there.
A wealth of desert castles, ancient highways and monumental dwellings hewn into the stone of the desert await the visitor to Jordan. Ancient and well preserved monuments stand side by side with incredible desert scenery. The red and dead seas are also big attractions in Jordan.
The best place to stay in Jordan is the capital Amman. Central to all the main attractions in this small country and very vibrant, it has some sights of its own. You can see ancient open air auditoriums, a major Grecian Citadel and some of the best museums in the Middle East. It is also good for searching out the best deals in some friendly traditional markets.
