Cambodia offers a fantastic blend of fascinating history, genuine hospitality, smiling people, and gastronomic delights. Ancient temples, empty beaches, mighty rivers, remote forests, and only a handful of tourists, is what you can expect from this marvellous country.
Cambodia is one of Asia’s last tourism frontiers. This country is a paradise for historians and archaeologists, with its rich history and culture dating back beyond the 10th century. Cambodia is a prime site to explore one of the many wonders of the ancient civilisation.
Cambodia, which is located between Thailand and Vietnam, offers its visitors a unique experience from the tribal people of Ratanakiri, to the vast wet lands of Tonle Sap Lake. Visitors come from all around the world to admire the magnificent Ankor Wat. It’s one of most popular tourists sites of Cambodia. Here, you can experience the remarkable remains of the once mighty Khmer Empire.
The temple has unbelievable majesty and stunning architecture of carved sandstone walls. The amazing Cambodian jungle settings enhance the mystery of the Ankor Wat temple, which makes this an experience that you will never forget.
The best time to visit Cambodia is between December and January, when the humidity is acceptable. From February and onwards, the climate tends to get really hot, which can be a bit uncomfortable. The rainy season is between May and October. Although the climate is a bit damp, this is the time when the Cambodian flora explodes, giving this country a lot of greenery and wonderful colours.
Generally, Cambodia is a relatively cheap place to travel. You can get by on as little as £6 per day. The larger cities tend to be a bit more expensive than the smaller villages. The major expense is usually for transportation.
ATM’s are only available in the bigger city’s like, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and Battmbang. Cash is preferred over credit cards.
