The Bahamas consist of hundreds of low-lying sandy islands surrounded by stunning aquamarine waters. Friendly, efficient service and a safe British-Colonial atmosphere make the Bahamas a good choice for a first Caribbean holiday.

New Providence is home to the Bahamian capital Nassau a sophisticated and elegant town, combining colonial architecture, glamorous restaurants and boutiques, fabulous white and pink sand beaches and warm turquoise waters. The main tourist areas in the Bahamas are Paradise Island and Cable Beach on New Providence, and Freeport on Grand Bahama. Both Nassau and Freeport are popular stops for many of the Caribbean cruise ships. Paradise Island is just across the water from Nassau, joined by a bridge, it enjoys miles of sandy beaches and has some spectacular hotels. Cable beach stretches 3 miles west of Nassau along the North Coast, making access into Nassau very easy. There are several large luxury hotels with excellent facilities, a range of restaurants, lively nightlife and 2 casinos. There are fabulous opportunities for water-sports in crystal clear water and hotels have a variety of water-sports on offer. The coral reefs offer spectacular diving while the islands are world famous for bonefishing and deep sea fishing adventures. Formerly a haven for pirates, smugglers and bootleggers, the proximity of the Bahamas to the USA has shaped their development.
